A MAGICAL PLACE  

It's a magical place where I live, 
Where two rocks found a year apart 
were once the same rock. 
Where two small saplings form an arch   over the rock where I am queen.   

A place where a loon feather is thrown 
up on the dock by a wave. 
Where a feather floating on the water 
has a ladybug at the helm.   

A place where the water is so clear   
I can stroke a fish. 
Where the lake wears diamonds in the morning   and a golden necklace at sunset. 

  A place where hummingbirds hover two by two above each flower,   
and loons call each other in the dark of night. Where spiders weave webs both indoors and out   
and lake flies complete their cycle in one day.   

It's a magical place where I live, 
One that when I am gone 
And when frogs no longer chirp, 
Someone else may still feel the magic.

A PEACEFUL PLACE      
 It's a peaceful place where we live 
Where the water reflects red leaves in fall 
       And is placid most of the year Where ducks, tails up-ended find nibbles      
And geese mid the lily pads gabble 

Where we canoe many curves of Crow River    And fish from a bridge down the road 

Where a bike path connects two villages   And we find different places to walk 

Where our home offers splendid scenery 
       Keeps our lives simple, serene
