Dorothy Tostenson Gustafson emailed me to say that she is at home recovering from pancreatic cancer surgery in Dec of 2011. She said she is "recovering slowly but surely". She has email. Send her a note.

Susan Stuber Pray has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and will be undergoing immediate treatments. Sue is quite tired and has difficulty with telephone calls. Please send Sue, Ron and her family your prayers, your positive thoughts and your healing energies during this difficult time. The Montevideo American reported that Larry Joregenson passed away on Nov 3.  Our condolences to JoAnne.

Nancy Paget has a new house mail address but the email is the same. If you want to contact her, just go to the class list page on this web site and click on her name.

Jan Kunze will have a 2nd knee replacement in Nov of 2011.

On Nov. 5th Pat Kern emailed to say that, " I had my aortic valve replaced along with a single bypass." Pat's email is on the class list page.

In April Gordy Dahl emailed to say he has a new email address. The correct one is on the class list page.

In Dec of 2010 Val Gregorson sent us her email address. Check the class list.

The Montevideo American carried the obituary below regarding the passing of LeLand Winge, husband of Judy Skonard. Our condolences to Judy.

Leland Winge, 79, of Montevideo, died Thursday, July 7, 2011, at the Clara City Care Center. Funeral services were held on Monday, July 11, at 11 a.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Montevideo

A classmate has passed away.
I received a note from John Geib, Patricia Triggs husband. Patty passed away April 4th, 2011.  He said that, in keeping with her wishes, there is no funeral or memorial services. The last city address i have for Patty is Plymouth, MN. We appreciate John's taking the time to notify us in this sime of sorrow for his family.

Paul Wickund was visited by several classmates in Nov of 2010.  Some pictures of Paul and a story he wrote about Christmas a few years ago are currently on the "Pictures and Biographies" page links to Paul.

Margo (Johnson) Feist will undergo a surgical procedure on Dec. 7th, 2010. Our thoughts and prayers are with her.

Lowell had a long recovery, but was able to play golf by June of 2010. There will be some pictures of his golf group on the site before January, 2011. Way to go Lowell!!!

Lowell Gemsey suffered a heart attack while shoveling snow on Valentine's Day, 2010. He was in the hospital for nearly three weeks in a coma and on a respirator. However,  as of 4/6/10, he is recovering at home. Our best wishes and prayers for his full recovery.

Rose Stark Docken passed away Feb 26, 2010 in Sioux Falls, S.D.. A notice appeared in the Montevideo paper. She is survived by her husband and children. Our condolences from the class of 1957 to her family.

We are saddened to learn that Margo (johnson) Feist's oldest daughter (Annie) passed away on 2/4/09. Annie fell at home and injured her brain stem. Gifts in memory of Annie can be made through the website www.thechildrenshospitalfoundation.org, click the “donate” tab) or by mail.  Checks should be sent directly to The Children’s Hospital Foundation, 13123 East 16th Avenue, Box 045, Aurora, CO 80045, and can be made out to The Children’s Hospital Foundation. A tax receipt will be sent and Margo will be notified (but not amount).

Delane Larson passed away on 8/31 after a long battle with cancer.

The first memorial service is on Friday, Sept. 5th 4-8  PM and is in Coon Rapids as indicated by email. The second memorial srvice is at Watson is at the Zion church at 2PM on Sat.
Also the family has requested that any memorials should be sent to the
Zion Restoration Society - P.O.Box 55 - Watson,MN 56295

According to the Montevideo paper, Nancy Farber Patteson passed away  on Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2007. A family memorial service was held Dec. 29, in Laguna Beach, Calif. Nancy is survived by her husband, a daughter (husband) and three grandchildren. Memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society. 
We miss you Nancy.

Flowers were sent to Pete's funeral on behalf of the Class of 1957. Karen Grams ordered and sent the flowers, and Carol Hinde, Elaine Liggitt and Margo Feist contributed to the cost.

Thanks to each of them for their thoughtfulness from the rest of us.

According to the local paper, Harold (Pete) Anderson passed away from lung cancer on  12/17/07. We'll miss you Pete

Fred Kunze had a quadruple bypass on 12/3/07 and is recovering at home. The problem was discovered during a stress test.

We had hoped that Paul Wickland would be able to attend the 50th reunion. However, this morning I recieved this email from Paul and Gabrielle.
Dear Fred and fellow classmates from the century past.

My health took a slight downswoop last week which will force my absence from the reunion this weekend.
I shall indeed miss seeing those such as Kay Lorans, Don Bouska, Al Dean and the many others from those halycon days.

I wish you all Godspeed and good fortune in whatever lies ahead for us all.  Please feel free to write or call us in future.

I am very, very sorry to have to report that Elaine Liggitt and Denny will be unable to attend the reunion. A bad disc in her back prevents Elaine from attending and she faces surgery. Elaine created the mailing list, created the picture name badges and the class booklet!! Tons of hours on her part.  If you'd like to send her an eamil, go to the class list and click on her name.

Message about availabililty of rooms for Sept 7-8-9.
Viking just called and they have 6 smoking rooms and 2 non-smoking rooms for Friday.   On Saturday they have only 6 smoking rooms.
She said people have been calling from the class of '57.

Carol called the casino and they said there are no rooms on the 8th but 1 King (no smoking) and 2 Queen (smoking for the 7th - Friday.
The Fiesta does have rooms at $56 + tax.  She did stress not to wait because it is hunting season, at that time, and rooms go fast.  The Sportsmens Inn has rooms - Single $38, Double $52, Triple (3 beds) $59 and King $44.

I feel bad, however, I will not attend the Monte57 reunion.  My children & I go back to school on August 6, 2007.   It would be impossible for me to take time off during the school year
other than emergencies.   Our two months of summer vacation went way too fast.  We 
rode our horses and played as much as possible and now it's time to prepare the house
for winter --- yuck!!    
 
Hope to return to Monte sometime as my sister, Sandra lives up around Glenwood.

The price for the class picture was erroneously posted by me as $20. The actual price will be $10 per person. That will include sending you the picture. Allen and Marge Larson have graciously volunteered to take the picture and mail a copy to all who sign up Saturday night at the reunion. A note from Margo Feist on the availability of motel space in Montevideo for the reunion.
 
I just looked at the lodging website and found the old Monte Motel that Chuckie used to own. I found out that her son, Brad, just bought it back! Anyway, I booked a room there. Brad said they have openings for our reunion dates if anyone is interested!
He is busy remodeling the rooms. Just an FYI!!
